Arklyz AG has completed its acquisition of Lloyd Shoes GmbH from Ara AG, adding one of Germany's most established premium footwear brands to its portfolio. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1888 and headquartered in Sulingen, Germany, Lloyd has built a 136-year history as a leading premium footwear brand across German-speaking and Scandinavian markets. The brand reaches customers through roughly 2,800 points of sale in 48 countries and 35 of its own concept stores worldwide, and employs more than 1,500 people.
Lloyd continues to operate under its existing brand and management following the acquisition, joining Gabor as the second heritage footwear brand behind Arklyz's position as a leading premium footwear player in Central and Northern Europe.
Param Singh, Owner & CEO of Arklyz, said the deal brings the group "a brand with exceptional heritage and leverage synergies" to build on across the platform.
Andreas Schaller, Managing Director of Lloyd, said the partnership represents "a powerful opportunity for LLOYD to expand its global footprint" alongside Arklyz's international infrastructure.
The acquisition extends Arklyz's long-term strategy of building a diversified portfolio of heritage and lifestyle brands across the sports, footwear, and lifestyle sectors.
