Arklyz Group has acquired Asphaltgold, a European omnichannel retailer specializing in premium sneakers and streetwear, continuing the group's expansion into digital-first retail. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 2008 and based in Darmstadt, Germany, Asphaltgold has grown into a destination for sneaker and streetwear culture, working with brand partners including Nike, Adidas, and New Balance and reaching a combined following of roughly 1.5 million across Instagram and Facebook.
The acquisition follows Arklyz's 2021 purchase of The Athlete's Foot and marks the group's next step in building out its retail and online capabilities. Asphaltgold will continue operating its online and physical retail under its own brand, drawing on Arklyz's operational infrastructure and global reach.
Param Singh, Owner & CEO of Arklyz, called the deal "a very strategic decision for us," pointing to Asphaltgold's community-driven, digital-first approach as a strong fit for the group's expansion plans.
Daniel Benz, Founder & CEO of Asphaltgold, said he was glad "to join forces with such a strategically strong partner as Arklyz" as the brand looks ahead to its next stage of growth.
The deal adds a fast-growing digital-first retailer to Arklyz's portfolio, reinforcing the group's presence across sports, footwear, and streetwear retail.
